Last year, we took a look at what kind of kit you could get for 1000 pounds, but as the producers thought that with inflation and with camera manufacturers releasing new cameras ever so frequently, Kai & Lok have been given the task of getting two separate camera kits for less than 1000 quid – who has the better setup? Lok’s Canon 600D package: www.digitalrev.com Kai’s Panasonic GF2 kit: www.digitalrev.com

More pixels don’t offer better quality images. It offers more versatility. Less megapixels means less information to work with in post processing and less flexibility for cropping. In a perfect world every shot would be perfectly framed and nobody would ever post process an image and cropping would be something you do in a corn field. The reality is, more megapixels results in more usable shots.

    Stick to film.

let me guess, you from that believe , the more pixel, the better the image is. stick to your point and shoot!

@lhlee888 they aren’t comparable they are cameras for different purposes. M9 rules for street/ photo journalism the d3 for everything else except serious studio and landscape photography….in which case its medium format all the way.

@JUANREVI But that is the problem with high end products. A D3100 is probably the best performance/price effective camera on the market, but if you want a better camera the differences will become smaller and smaller, but the price will still climb to incredible heights.
Because the pro models are running into the barrier of what is technically possible and practical the price vs performance figures goes out the window, but if you are a pro photographer you need the best you can get.

I’d get the 600D if I had the extra money spare. The GF2 is good for tourists and amateurs because it gives nice quality with cheaper.

    LOL!!!
Kai: “You want massive zoom? I’ve got that too OOOOOH”
    Lok: “What is that!?!?”
    Kai: “BAD BOOOOOY!”
    Lok: “That is ridiculous”

It will cost more than £1000 with digital rev since their delivery is expensive
I wanted something cheap off their website And the delivery is more than the product
That’s why i shop with amazon and free delivery

Why does Kai always pretend that the GF2′s touchscreen doesn’t work well? He’s a smart guy. Surely he can figure out that the GF2′s LCD is pressure sensitive rather than touch sensitive like an iPhone. I have the GF2 and the touchscreen works perfectly.
